Quatre,
born on the L4 Colony Cluster to the illustrious Winner family, is the
youngest Gundam pilot at 15. He is the only male child of a family consisting
of 30 children. Originally, he held his family in contempt because he believed
that he was a test tube baby like his sisters, born only to survive his father
as the head of the Winner conglomerate. He fled his home at 13 and was
captured by the Maganac Corps, a mercenary group led by Rasid Kurama. He felt
useless even to a group of mercenaries because he made a useless hostage with
little to offer. Here, he was befriended by the group and he finally found
something to live for. After his capture, he also learned of his true past.
His mother, Quaterina, passed away while giving birth to Quatre. His father
never told him this because he did not want to feel any different from his
sisters. Quatre adopted a belief in peace and strove began to strive for the
same goals that his father did.

Unfortunately,
his father believed in peace through pacifism. Quatre saw that there was no
point in being a pacifist and began to fight for peace. Instructor H, one of
the scientists responsible for the Gundams, bestowed the priviledge of
piloting Gundam Wing 04, the Sandrock, to Quatre. Sandrock was designed to be
a close combat Gundam, it is heavily armored and is usually armed with two
large scimitars.
When Quatre meets the other Gundam pilots, he is quickly shunned by the more
solitary four. But Quatre, being the friendly guy that he is, earns the trust
and friendship of the group very quickly. He especially gains the trust of
Heero, who eventually leaves the responsibility of leading the Wing in the
battle against OZ. Quatre is the only pilot other than Heero to be able to
control Wing Zero's flight system. Heero trusts him to use it well, and he
does so and leads the group to final victory. He then requests for it to be
removed.
Regarded as the weak one, he is certainly not. He was the key to bringing the
group together and was the first pilot to control the Wing Zero. His sorrows
and regrets of war are made up when his ideals of peace are reached. Pray that
he meets these dreams or the world may fall to his hand.
